Evelyn Wright was a beautiful and gorgeous woman.
Kemisola watched in awe as she came out of the elevator and the green monster, mixed with a heavy dose of envy turned her belly into curdles. Evelyn was a woman of average height but the elegant block-heeled sandal she wore added to her height, and dark-green ,off-the shoulder, short-sleeve jumpsuit emphasised her voluptuously curvy shape. Her soft yellow skin looked like fresh milk. No wonder Ayoola was crazy about her.
She had been wondering where she had seen her face before until she saw her on movie premier on a fashion TV station the previous night. Evelyn was the owner of Plush Plus Line, the clothing line who handled the costume for the new Nollywood movie, The Sail, making waves on the internet right now. Then it clicked. Ayoola named her ‘Eve’ and she knew it was the same woman. She went online and found out more about her. She was a wealthy woman but also a married one. What was she doing with her man? Was she the one Ayoola slept with right inside his sitting room? Could she be that shameless? Maybe Ayoola was even sleeping with her in exchange for money. Well, that arrangement was going to stop today. Locating her office wasn’t a challenge at all.
“Good morning. You must be Kemisola. Have we met before?” Her voice was polite, cultured with a bit of foreign accent.
Rich, spoiled kid who thought she could have everything she wanted. Mtcheew. She got to her feet, “No, we have not met. I would like to see you for something quite urgent and private. I promise not to take too much of your time.” Her lips were spread in a fake smile.
“That is alright. Please come with me.” Evelyn led the way to the mini reception off the main reception and sat at a table for two. She then signaled to an office boy loitering around to bring refreshment. Their table was served with tea and snacks in five minutes flat. “Please have your seat.”
“Thank you.” Kemisola sat but didn’t touch the refreshment. She went straight to the point. “I came to warn you to leave my man alone.”
“Excuse me?” Evelyn’s catlike eyes settled on her with a tiny frown and Kemisola nearly squirmed in her seat.
“You heard me right. Ayoola Faleke is my man and we are engaged. It will be in your best interest to stay away from him or else I will pour stones in your gari.” Her voice was low, meant for her ears only but the threat in it was unmistakable as she stared right back.
“I see.” Evelyn’s eyes were expressionless as she stared at her. “Is it Ayoola who told you we are involved or you jump into conclusion all by yourself?”
“He is not stupid , neither am I. I believe this belongs to you.” She pulled the pants from her bag, wrapped in nylon and dropped it on the table right between them. There was no flicker of expression in Evelyn’s eyes but her skin betrayed her. It turned violently red and that was all the confirmation she needed. “You have a reputation to protect. I don’t. I saw you at the movie premiere last night. No celebrity will do business with a disgraced married woman who sleeps with other men like a harlot.”
“Points taken and noted. Will you please leave my office now?” Evelyn got to her feet.
“Gladly.” She did the same. “I am a pig who loves to play in the mud. You are the unicorn, beautiful, gorgeous and high-class. I won’t hesitate to drag you into the mud with me if you don’t stay away from my man.” Turning on her heels, she walked out of the elegant tea room, with her head held high and victory theme playing in her head.
Mission accomplished. It was time to start preparing for her wedding.

Revenge was best served cold.
It was cold and sweet when it involved spending it between the luscious laps of an unconscious beautiful woman. He had been missing all the times he stayed away from his matrimonial bed. What was he thinking? He had been repulsed by the rolls of fat on her body but now, she had really trimmed down, leaving the fat in the right places, full and firm. How did she get so tight and sweet? When he thought of the things he did to her body when she was out, flat and cold, he went literally hard and throbbing.
Getting the drugs that knocked her out was easy. He only needed to visit an old classmate who studied Pharmacy but ended up in a chemist shop and was obviously languishing in poverty. Samuel was one of the best students in his university days. He and Kelvin had few courses in common in the first two years of his University days plus they also stayed in the same hostel most of their school days and that was how they became acquainted. They had met again accidentally when Kelvin visited a girlfriend for a quickie and his Car was almost vandalised on the road, by the streetboys. The Car was parked in front of Samuel’s shop and he had come to his rescue.
Cooking a sob story that Samuel swallowed hook, line and sinker of a girl who duped him and with the exchanged wads of cash, Samuel had given him an effective sleeping drug that made it easy to extract his pound of flesh and at the same time, secured his legacy. He had unlocked her phone and studied her ovulation calendar.
The only way she could escape the effect of the drug was if she didn’t eat or drink anything in the house. Even the stash of water she hid away wasn’t exempted.
As he pulled up in the Car Park, he glanced at the dashboard clock and noted it was almost midnight. She would be fast asleep by now. Thinking about removing every stitch of clothing on her body, spreading out those laps obscenely and thrusting into her tight, warm, depth had blood rushing downwards and a wicked grin spread over his face. The club was fun and the girls were naughty but compared to his new indulgence, they couldn’t compare.
Whistling as he locked up the Car, he dropped his Car Key in his backpack and strolled into the house. There was silence everywhere and the sitting room was in darkness. He went straight to their matrimonial bedroom and opened the door. She wasn’t there but he wasn’t surprised. She had been avoiding his touch since she started sleeping with that bastard and escaping to the guestroom to spend the night. The mere thought of another man touching what rightfully belonged to him made him go brutal on her. She would be in the guestroom. He had duplicated the keys to all the rooms in the house. Even if she hid in the bathroom, he would find her and make her pay for cheating on him. There was no hiding place in this house. Taking a cold shower, he wore fresh boxers and pulled a silk house robe over it, then went to find her in the Guestroom. She wasn’t there or in any other room in the house.
Where was this whore for God’s sake?
Panic didn’t set in immediately. He was angry. Furious. She had ruined his plan tonight. He was fully loaded and ready to unleash his fertile seed into every hole or crevice in her body. If he caught her, he would spank the hell out of her big bum and she would show the red marks to her grandchildren. His grandchildren. They would be the heir to this dynasty.
Moving with jerky angry strides, he went to the staff quarters and woke up the staff with loud bangs on the door. The security men, Fawaz and Felix rushed out, clad in their sleeping boxers and holding guns. They were closely followed by the Chef, Efosa, who cowered behind the two. Kelvin glowered at the three men.
“Good evening Sir. Is there a problem?” Fawaz inclined his head in respect, as he pulled the safety into place and lowered the gun hand.
“Where is my wife?”
“Your wife?” The men chorused as they exchanged glances and Efosa came forward.
“She didn’t come home tonight sir. The dinner I prepared for the two of you has been packed and kept in the fridge.” Spreading his hands for emphasis, there was a worried frown on his face as he stared at his boss.
Her Car wasn’t in the Car Park. She rarely drove and her Car was always in the Car park or Garage. He just remembered now “ Where is her Car then? If I remember correctly, she took a Cab to work this morning, right?”
“You are right, sir. She came home in the middle of the day , packed a small handbag and left in her Car. Efosa had gone to the market then. She acknowledged our greetings but only smiled when I asked if she was travelling.”
“So she didn’t give you any answer and you are happy with that? Now, she is gone and I don’t know where to find her. You are just a bunch of fools, good for nothing idiots. I wonder why we are even paying you any salary.” Hissing viciously, he turned on his heels and stormed back to the house, missing the look of confusion on the men’s faces.
He tried her number but it was switched off. Had he pushed her to the limit? Panic threatened to rise in his throat but he pushed it down. She would be back. Maybe she had gone out with her friends and forgot to come home. He hoped she hadn’t gone back to that idiot she cheated on him with? No, it wasn’t possible. He had blocked his number and he was quite sure they hadn’t been communicating. His sleep was a restless one, filled with nightmares. He was equally angry and scared.
She would be in the office this morning. She wasn’t the type who joked with her work, despite the fact that her father owned more than half of the group of companies. He would be in a great mess if her father realised she was missing and he had no clue where she could be. He could barely concentrate at work.
At mid-day, he drove to her office and the Receptionist informed him she hadn’t resumed work.
By the third day, he was truly worried and at wit’s end of who to call. As he was about to leave the Reception on the third day, he ran into one of her colleagues, a woman who looked vaguely familiar.
“Good Afternoon, Madam.” He smiled at her
“Afternoon Sir.” Her voice was cold and hostile as she made to brush past him. Had they met before?
“I am sorry to be a bother. My name is Kelvin, Evelyn Wright’s husband. Ermm… do you know if she had been to work today?”
Pausing in strides, she turned and gave him the nastiest look he ever encountered in his life, “You are Eve’s husband and you don’t know if she is at work today? Are you not living in the same house?”
It sounded ridiculous and he should be embarrassed but he was too scared to care. If his father in law knew what he had been doing to his daughter, a long jail term awaited him, “Yes, ma’am. The truth is I have not seen her in three days and her number is not reachable. I am eager for any information about her.”
“Well, I don’t have any information about her either. Why don’t you talk to the police? They may be able to help.”
Police? Police kwa? He detested them with passion. This was Trouble with a Capital T. The truth was Evelyn was the most peaceful and gullible woman he ever came across. He would be the first suspect if anything bad happened to her. What had he done? Was he the reason she ran away? He had an urgent urge to pee.
“Thank you,ma’am. Please what is the name?”
“Titilola. Best of luck, Mr.” She moved away and went into the elevator.
Dragging his steps out of the Reception room, his phone rang and it was his father in law, Jonathan Wright. He rushed back into the Reception and went to use the loo.
“Good Afternoon sir.”
“How are you, Kelvin? I have been trying to reach Evelyn for days now but her number has been unreachable. Where is she?” There was impatience in the Older man’s voice.
“Hmmm…” Should he tell him the truth? His stomach rumbled noisily and he swallowed the urge to empty his stomach. “I have no idea sir. She left the house three days ago and I haven’t been able to reach her.”
“What!” He could almost see the man as he vaulted to his feet abruptly and his head spinned. “See me in my office right away.” The phone went dead.
Throwing his head over the sink, he emptied the content of his stomach.
